Companionship

“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
“Pooh!” he whispered.
“Yes, Piglet?”
“Nothing,” said Piglet, taking Pooh’s paw. “I just wanted to be sure of you.”
― A.A. Milne, The House at Pooh Corner

That’s sort of me with Sandy, Sandy with me, and both of us with God.  We’ve asked a lot of complicated questions in the past year.  But really most everything boils down to just being, and being assured that what and who you love is right there with you.

The disease progresses, and we adapt daily to the changes, and face the challenges of staying comfortable. Doing so is made easier with the caring and attentive hospice personnel, along with the love of family and friends. And, the presence of a new member of the household:  Tyson!  He is our very own (practically, if not officially) therapy dog, who travelled all the way from Colorado with Sarah. Banjo doesn’t quite know what to make of him, but he should warm up eventually.  Both of these furry critters are wonderful, sympathetic companions for Sandy throughout the day and night.

When I called the other day Sandy was asking himself what the meaning of life is…I was not sure how to respond and told him when he figured it out to let me know. I have been thinking about it ever since…and I believe the true meaning of life is LOVE. How you love, who you love, giving love to those who don’t even think they deserve it, those who aren’t expecting it and if you are lucky receiving love in return. Sandy is living breathing love and therefore exemplifies the meaning of life. You too my dear Christy. My love and prayers with you both always. Give each other big hugs from me. Thanks XXXOOO

Being present totally is the best gift anyone can give. I may not be there with you physically but there is not one day that you and Sandy and your family are ever far from my thoughts and prayers. May you continue to experience “peace that passes understanding” and great comfort from all directions. Hugs and love to you all. Joanna and Dave Moore.

Christy and Sandy…how nice for both of you to have the companionship of Tyson and Banjo.
(I didn’t know you had a cat.) I am sure there will be some “turf wars” until they get to know each other. All the posts are sure spot on. So glad you have this network of friends and family. All the amazing people you know and now we get to know them a little bit too. What you have given out coming back mega-multiplied! I too think of you both everyday and sad that I am so far away.
Hugs, kisses, squeezes…whatever works! It’s all good love. Aloha! D&J

It must be hard for the walls of your home to contain all of the love and God’s grace that this there right now.

Thankful the Lord gave us the privilege of having you be a part of our lives for a number of years. Years that made a difference then and continues on now. “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” Thank you for transforming your home every Saturday so we could join together Sunday mornings for worship and fellowship together and the faithful teaching of the Word.

Hello my name is Teresa and I just wanted to drop you a quick message here instead of calling you. I came to your Companionship – Cancer Care Updates page and noticed you could have a lot more visitors. I have found that the key to running a successful website is making sure the visitors you are getting are interested in your website topic. There is a company that you can get keyword targeted visitors from and they let you try their service for free for 7 days. I managed to get over 300 targeted visitors to day to my site. http://www.isugarbox.com/yourl/b5
